COLLEGE PLANNING TIMELINE
September2009
SAT/ACT Seniors should take an SAT or ACT in September or October of 2009. We recommend the SAT for Algebra II CP students, and the ACT for Pre Calculus H students. See Mrs. Todd for more details. The College Board (SAT) and ACT websites may be accessed from our website under “High School”.
October 2009
Seniors should have a choice list of 3 colleges to Mrs.Todd by October 30th of 2009. Many variables come in to play in choosing a college. These include majors offered, size of school, public or private, location, sports, etc. Cost should not be one of the first considerations! There are many ways to finance your college education. If you want to stay in South Carolina, the state has very attractive scholarship programs.
College questions? You can e-mail Mrs. Todd with college questions at mtodd@faithchristiansc.com Federal Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Seniors and their parents can now estimate the amount of federal financial aid they will receive for college by using the “FAFSA4caster”. Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and look for the link on the page.
